About

As a permanent resident of the Outer Banks for over 15 years, and an eastern North Carolina native, I have worked for a number of companies and individuals throughout my construction career. From being a maintenance technician for rental companies, to framing and finishing beachfront homes for general contractors, I have gained knowledge and experience in multiple construction practices but have always gravitated to or been selected for finishing work of all kinds.

I started doing tile in 2005 while attending college in Greenville, North Carolina where I earned a degree in graphic design & advertising. During my off time from school, I ended up working for a unique individual who specialized in custom kitchen & bathroom remodels and high end finishing work. I was very fortunate to be taught to do things the right way the first time early on in my career. We did a lot of custom remodeling projects with extravagant features like handmade tiles, teak shower benches, and concrete countertops. Other projects included reception areas for businesses, laminate bar fronts, and multiple high end tile showers.

After graduating college I continued my construction career working with a local construction company as a framer & finish carpenter. During that time I gained experience with commercial and residential framing, decking, flooring, cabinetry, tile, finish carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, sheetrock, and much more.

You may have met me on the beach in years past working as a trim carpenter or a cabinet installer for a local cabinet company based out of Kitty Hawk. I have also worked exclusively on the Outer Banks as a tile & flooring installer since 2020 for a handful of local contractors and businesses.

At the beginning of 2024 I established OBX Tileworks LLC. My passion for design and experience in construction is a great combination for the type of work that I do. Since I was trained early on in construction to have an eye for details, I have always excelled in finishing work no matter if it’s tile or woodworking. Being a formally trained graphic designer allows me to combine my design experience with construction knowledge to create one of a kind projects for my customers. I take a practical approach with all of my projects & my designs are based on 3 things; clean lines, functional elements, & proper application.

I am dedicated to producing high end work while providing professional service with a personal touch. Thank you for visiting the website, and I look forward to working with you on our next project.
